Founder, Blossoms and Honeybees
Fertility and Wellness for Women is my passion and I created Blossoms and Honeybees, to nurture, support and empower women of all ages and backgrounds.
Reconnecting to Wellness is a journey that enriches all facets of our lives and rewards those who explore its benefits.
In my mind, we seem to have forgotten that a woman’s fertility is far broader than her capacity to become (or not become) pregnant. We have also lost sight that a woman’s fertility and creativity extends during her entire life, regardless of whether she is fertile or in the (sometimes) challenging process of moving beyond to her wisdom years. It seems to me that our awareness of our fertility and creativity is the source of who we are and I am committed to helping my clients reconnect with this deep energy of creativity.
For me, I learnt the importance of this the hard way, in corporate Human Resources roles. I saw the stress, workloads and challenges that exist in such a busy and demanding environment take their toll on my colleagues and myself. Careers in these settings can be (and should be) very rewarding but not at the expense of our wellness and sense of self.
I watched many of the women I was working along side having difficulties when deciding to try and have a baby. I have friends who, in their mid 30’s, were diagnosed with early menopause and were then devastated when their attempts to fall pregnant were failing!
I wanted to learn as much as I could about why this was happening and how I could take responsibility for my own wellness and help others. I started training in Natural Medicine and Natural Health therapies and graduated as a Remedial Massage Therapist in 2009 with Australian College of Natural Medicine. I’m currently studying an undergraduate degree in Nutritional Medicine, which I’m loving, and can’t wait to pass this new knowledge onto my clients!
My interest in supporting women in their fertility journey led me to completing additional specialist studies with Pregnancy Massage Australia and subsequently qualifying as a Certified NurtureLife Practitioner. NurtureLife Pregnancy Massage is a specialised massage technique providing positive and nurturing support as well as education for the mother-to-be and her partner both during and after pregnancy. I have, more recently, undertaken studies with the Arvigo Institute and am a Registered Arvigo Practitioner, we may also be referred to as ATMAT Practitioners, specialising in the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapies.
Massage, beyond all the documented benefits, helps to connect us with ourselves even as we start with the simple step of taking some time out to nurture, soothe and relieve our body from the stresses of our daily routines.
I’m certainly happy to chat with you about the kind of benefits I see that we get from natural massage therapies – please, feel free to contact me to discuss your needs and what you would like to get out of a session.
